The files are on your file system, and all ACDSee does is browse through the file system like File Explorer. ACDSee has no control over the process.ĪCDSee also doesn't store any files itself. Although the notification claims that ACDSee is downloading from OneDrive, it is actually OneDrive that downloads the files on its own. When you browse your OneDrive folder in ACDSee, ACDSee accesses the image and media files in order to generate thumbnails. When any application tries to access the file, OneDrive shows a notification and downloads the file. A given file is stored in the cloud, and although it will appear in your OneDrive folder in File Explorer, it will not take up any disk space.
By default, OneDrive is set to only download files "as you use them".
